- An ideal of man. Marriage has always been between man and woman but let's not forget this was also a country which believed in slavery.

I BEG your pardon. We are from the NORTH. As far back as the 1800's my family NEVER believed in SLAVERY. In case you are not aware, many WHITE people were used and abused in different forms of slavery. My grandmother used to wash and iron clothes everyday for 50 cents a week
